2016 to date|Farewell Till We Meet Again, Heart Village

More than half a century, Heart Village stood as a second home for veterans who lost their families and homes during wartime. Finally, in 2016, the residents bid farewell to the village and moved to the Kang-Zhuang Community in Fuxinggang. Meanwhile, the restoration of Heart Village began, preparing to show the village to the public with a new look. Following the dissolution of the Heart Village Council, Taipei Heart Village Association took over the responsibilities and continued to promote the cultural and historical preservation of the military dependents’ village. Since 2021, Taipei Culture Foundation, assigned by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, has taken charge of the operation of Heart Village. Their goal is to establish Heart Village as a base for promoting military dependents’ villages in Taipei. They integrate the natural and cultural attractions in the surrounding area of Beitou, revitalize the community as well as the local cultural and historical resources and organize exhibitions, performances and educational activities. By doing so, they promote the preservation and redevelopment of military dependents' villages and showcase the diverse and rich culture of Heart Village.
