1898|During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese noticed the abundant hot spring resources in Beitou and requisitioned land to establish the Beitou Branch of Taipei Army Garrison Hospital. The hospital provided wounded Japanese soldiers with treatment and helped with recuperating war-related traumas.
1905|During the Russo-Japanese War, a large number of injured soldiers were sent to Beitou for recovery and the reputation of the hospital spread.
1945|After World War II, the government of the Republic of China took over the hospital and turned some buildings into dormitories, which later became part of Heart Village.
1958|During the August 23rd Artillery Battle in Kinmen, the Beitou Branch treated many wounded soldiers.
1959|Zhu, Ju-Xian, the group leader of the first group of Beitou Branch, was elected as the first village chief of Heart Village.
1963|National Women's League of the R.O.C. funded and built 7 wooden houses with asbestos roofs and distributed them to 18 households.
1966|The Army 821st General Hospital relocated to the Beitou Branch and some of the staff and their dependents moved into Heart Village.
2002|The investigation and evaluation on military dependents’ villages conducted by Taipei City Government suggested that the preservation value of Heart Village was only second to Four Four South Village.
2008|Heart Village underwent a cultural heritage evaluation.
2009|Heart Village Council and other organizations participated in the Diaspora Unit of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam and gained attention back in Taiwan.
2010|Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government proposed to the Ministry of National Defense and claimed that Heart Village should be selected as a Military Dependents’ Village Conservation Area, according to the Act for Rebuilding Old Quarters for Military Dependents.
2011|Heart Village was registered as a cultural heritage in the “groups of buildings” category.
2012|The Executive Yuan announced Heart Village as one of the thirteen Military Dependents’ Village Conservation Areas in Taiwan.
2015|Taipei Culture Foundation held the Idea Taipei Creative Workshop and discussed the revitalization and preservation of Heart Village.
2016|The relocation of Heart Village was completed.
2017|The Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, initiated the first phase of the restoration project for Heart Village.
2018|The first phase of the restoration project was completed and opened to the public. Taipei Heart Village Association was in charge of the preservation and revitalization project of Heart Village until 2020.
2020|The second phase of restoration project for Heart Village was initiated.
2021|Taipei Culture Foundation took over the management of the first-phase project.
2022|The second-phase restoration project involving the three National Women's League-donated military dependents’ houses was completed and opened as an exhibition area.
