"When we play together, I often find myself a half-beat behind."

In the picture book, on the previous page, the protagonist Left Ear describes living with a group of Right Ears. But as you turn to the next page, readers see from a third-person perspective that it's all Left Ear. So, are these "Right Ears" truly Left Ear?
Besides the difference in clothing colors, they also have distinct physical lines along the edges of their heads, some clear and others blurry.
I really enjoy the movements of these Right Ears; they appear slightly out of sync. The slide is also crooked, depicting the world as seen from Left Ear's perspective.
