里爾家具以品牌所在地台南歷史文化脈絡為靈感，透過木工藝家具設計，訴說400年 前的台南故事。故事從大航海時代說起，台江內海裡小艇穿梭，繁忙地接駁停泊於 大海上的船隻工作，荷蘭人建立的熱蘭遮城矗立於港邊，成為東印度公司往來中 國、日本的重要據點。熱蘭遮城龐大的建築量體成為工藝設計的靈感來源，回溯16 世紀，因火藥發明而影響堡壘建築呈現星芒的「陵堡」樣態。工藝師發現，原來曾 經的熱蘭遮城也是陵堡型態，因而透過四組直立式結構呼應高大武裝的陵堡建築 性，載面結合結構撐於陵堡之間，代表著堡內樓層;背後的X支撐結構亦有如星芒的 輻射狀，以及航海指南針，成為風格與故事感獨具的木工藝家具，層架的形式，用 以收藏書籍、累積知識，猶如荷蘭人透過航海探險，搜集海洋與東方知識。 而為了確保熱蘭遮城商館的安全，在只有真正的引水人才能走的河道上也搭起海 堡，如此意象轉化為實木鳩尾榫連接的海堡凳，搭建起的平台如今也可作為床頭 几、沙發邊几、穿鞋凳等等的多用途椅凳。
Inspired by the historical and cultural context of Tainan, Real Furniture tells the story of Tainan 400 years ago through woodworking and furniture design. The narrative begins in the Age of Exploration, where small boats navigated the Tai-Chiang Inner Sea, busily transporting goods between ships anchored offshore. Fort Zeelandia, built by the Dutch, stood on the harbor’s edge as a key hub for the East India Company’s trade with China and Japan.The imposing structure of Fort Zeelandia serves as the inspiration for the Zeelandia shelf . Reflecting back to the 16th century, fortifications influenced by the invention of gunpowder often took on the star-shaped “bastion” form. The artisan discovered that Fort Zeelandia once shared this bastion design. Four vertical structural elements in the shelf mirror the towering, fortified architecture of the bastion, while horizontal planes represent its internal floors. The X-shaped back support evokes both the starburst pattern of the bastion and a nautical compass, making this wooden furniture piece rich in character and narrative. The shelving unit is designed for storing books, much like the Dutch gathered maritime and Eastern knowledge through exploration.
To secure the trade at Fort Zeelandia, the Dutch also built seaforts along river routes accessible only to expert pilots. This imagery is transformed into the Zeeburg Stool, crafted with solid wood dovetail joints. The stool, shaped like a platform, serves multiple functions today, such as a bedside table, sofa side table, or shoe bench, blending historical inspiration with modern versatility.

創立於2018年，由羅怡麟、羅康維兩兄弟於臺南成立，兩人分別出生於1988年及1985年。兩人對於家具設
計的熱愛始於對自身文化的探索，有感於大航海時代各國在這座島嶼上豐富多元的文化交流。品牌名稱里爾 (Real)即是取自大航海時代中西班牙銀幣的名稱，是在臺灣歷史上極為重要的貨幣，以此延伸出不同族群 相互交流平臺的意涵;也呼應以臺灣歷史文化脈絡為品牌核心及創作靈感的主軸，此特色顯見於《熱蘭遮層 架》及《泉邊几》等作品，透過非單一風格的創作，展現臺灣融合不同文化所創造出的獨特生活方式。
Real Furniture was founded in 2018 by brothers Lo Yi-Lin and Lo Kang-Wei in Tainan—born in 1988 and 1985 respectively—the duo shares a profound passion for furniture design, sparked by an exploration of their cultural roots. Drawing inspiration from the rich and diverse cultural exchanges that flourished on the island during the Age of Exploration, they named their brand "Real," a nod to the Spanish silver coin "Real", which was a vital currency in Taiwan’s history. This name symbolizes a platform for cross-cultural exchange, perfectly aligning with the brand's core vision: celebrating Taiwan’s historical and cultural heritage. Through their creations,such as Zeelandia shelf and Spring side table, which span a variety of styles, the brand highlights the unique lifestyle shaped by Taiwan's harmonious blend of diverse influences.
