First Graduating Class of Buddhist Studies in Taiwan at Fo Guang Shan Eastern Buddhist College
In order to adapt to the needs to function in a modern society, the Venerable Master wished for Eastern Buddhist College to "start from the East and fuse with learnings from the West", making it an ideal place to study for any Buddhist in the world. The Buddhist College puts equal emphasis on practice and understanding. Aiming to expand the students’ perspectives, other than sutra study classes, the implementation of Dharma in daily life was also valued. Things like eating, walking meditation, listening to Dharma talks, kitchen and serving tasks, and choreworks are all areas of education to integrate Dharma practice into daily life activities while promoting personal growth.
