The Dharma Wheel Turns Constantly

Venerable Master Hsing Yun was born in 1927, renounced in 1938,and came to Taiwan in 1949. To promote Humanistic Buddhism and propagate the Dharma, he founded Fo Guang Shan Monastery in 1967, and established the four guiding objectives of Fo Guang Shan: propagate Buddhism through culture; foster talent through education; benefit society through charity; and purify human minds through cultivation. Originally a wasteland, Fo Guang Shan is presently praised as a "modern public monastery" and "international Buddhist temple."As a result of the hard work of Fo Guang Shan's lay and monastic communities, it can be said that the Buddha's light shines universally and the Dharma stream flows etemally across the five continents. To ensure the eternal reservation of the Dharma, enshrine the Buddha's relic, purify people's minds, and bring peace and harmony to society, the Buddha Memorial Center was completed in 2011.
