Tzu Ai Kindergarten

Compassionate and Benevolent Nature Takes Early Root In 1953, when Venerable Master Hsing Yun became abbot of Lei Yin Temple in Yilan, he established the Buddhist Youth Choir and the Dharma Propagation Team in order to attract youth to come learn and practice Buddhism. That same year, in order to cultivate the seeds of Buddhism, Venerable Master responded to the government's call to educate society by establishing a children's Buddhist chanting class. In addition to leading the children in chanting the Buddha's name and making prostrations to the Buddha, he also taught moral conduct by teaching them to sing Buddhist songs and telling them Buddhist stories. In 1956, recognizing that Yilan lacked institutions that provide children with a well-rounded education, Venerable Master established Tzu Ai Kindergarten, which is the first Buddhist kindergarten. Afterwards, Venerable Master has continued to nurture and educate children and youth by establishing a total of three kindergartens, one child care center, four secondary and elementary schools, and so on. 1956 Yilan Tzu Ai Kindergarten 1981 Shanhua Hui Ci Kindergarten. 1985 Tainan Ci Hang Kindergarten 2000 Xinying Little Star Kindergarten 1985 Tainan Ci Hang Child Care Center 1977 Pu-Men High School Kaohsiung County 2004 Jiun Tou Elementary and Junior High School 2009 F.G.S Jiun Yi Junior High and Elementary School
